Yay! It’s Art Every Day Month! An annual challenge to create – and post – art every day for a month. I’ve participated now for three or four years and find it a wonderful practice and a wonderful community. This year I’m involving some of my “real life” community of art makers – we’re having a meeting tomorrow to discuss how we want to support each other.
One of my favorite ways to play with my iPad is to start with a photo, add some layers, and trace over it. As I add my own spin, I eventually drop out the original photo. This started with a photo of my wife’s family taken in the sixties. The original was not very flattering…and I’m afraid my interpretation is even less so! But it was terribly fun to do.
I love to see IPAD art and yours is excellent. Very nicely done.
Hi! Interesting to see your take on this technique! As part of trying to get decent likenesses of specific faces, I sometimes paste photos into my phone and sketch over them, and construct the body positions I want from the electronic equivalent of posable wooden figurines. I don’t know what traditional art teachers would think of doing things that way, but I enjoy it!
I’ll be working on a tablet too for most of the month. It will be interesting to see what you share. I really like the whimsy of this piece
