I was reading about blackout poems the other day, and last night I had the urge to try one. Problem was, I was in a hotel room with no newspapers in sight. So, I used a page from the Gideon Bible! I think the results are somewhat Rumi-esque:

I will be strong and courageous with you.
Free, indeed.
Come to rest.
Pursue love, and call on a pure heart.
Then, call on the name of my soul.

Since I hadn’t torn the page out, I left it in the drawer for a future Hilton guest to find.
